Sunday I continued a series in my church called “Reset.” We are looking at resetting different key areas of our lives and Sunday we looked at resetting our fitness. In my research I discovered some things about rest and getting a good night’s sleep that I found interesting. For example, did you know that in 1910 people slept an average of 9 hours!! 9 hours!! I can’t remember the last time I slept 9 hours!! Experts have told us for years that we are suppose to sleep at least 8 hours per night, but in 2018 the average person slept 6.8 hours and 40% of all people slept less than 6 hours per night. Needless to say, people are tired! So much so that sleeplessness has become a major health epidemic in America and a multi-billion dollar industry has emerged to help people sleep better.Â

Yet we still aren’t sleeping better….
